Broken index on PocketBook 740 if there are spaces in filename

Post by loredan13 »

I tried downloading a story https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12976373/1/Systema with default configuration and EPUB output format. After uploading it on PocketBook I tried opening index on it and no entries have worked. After a bit of tinkering it turned out that reader doesn't like split files with spaces in their filenames. That was easily fixed by replacing filename pattern from "%a - %s" to "%a_%s", however the next story https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13755811/1/Gamer-Neighbour has a space in the title itself that cannot be removed with filename pattern. Manual editing confirmed that if you replace space in split file name with underscore and do the same in toc.ncx file index entries start working properly. Also if you try adding spaces in the filename, Calibre warns you that some readers may have issues with that.

Can you make downloader remove spaces from index and generated split files?
