Linux installation steps?

Hi xD, today I was browsing the web and checked came across screenshots of Ubuntu 11.04 Linux today and dual-booted it with windows. Ive been trying to figure out how to open/exec the "fanficdownloader" file in the linux version (try to launch it with QT creator), but I have no clue what i'm doing :-/. If you could point me to the right direction, I would be very grateful

O_O I figured it out xD!!
ran the command:
chmod +x "path to script"
...or...
right click script > properties ; Permissions tab > check allow execution... :-/
It launches now xD, so much better to figure something out on your own
.

Yeah, Linux is great, especially Ubuntu and SUSE, but I suggest reading the documentation before doing too much with the command line. It's rather easy to use (compared to powershell in Win7) but it can hurt you if you don't know what your doing. Ubuntu has a great documentation and support forum, so you're in luck.
